Information campaign

Niš, 30. October 2006 |
An information campaign targeting the first target group for a total of 825 officers was carried out with the aim to informing candidates about the project opportunities as well as registration and application procedures.
For the first group of 629 retrained officers, the campaign was composed of seven events to be conducted in the areas where the majority of these people are residing. Three events were organised in Belgrade, two in Niš, one in Novi Sad and one in Kraljevo. Around 60% of invited officers attended those events. The first event was opened by Assistant Minister Jevtić and attended by several VIPs from donor and stakeholder institutions.
Two information events were organized for the second target group (196 officers who were under retraining at that time), one at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade and one at the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering in Niš. The attendance rate for these two events reached more than 75%.
All potential beneficiaries received by mail an invitation to the information event. An information leaflet about the NATO Trust Fund was produced and also enclosed to the above mentioned mailing. In order to raise the awareness of the public about the programme, posters were produced and exposed in the resettlement centres and other locations frequently visited by former army personnel.

To ensure adequate visibility, all materials used in the information campaign are including information about the donors and the logos of NATO, Norway, MoD, PRISMA and IOM.
As part of the information campaign, a press release to announce the starting of the programme has been drafted in November 2006. The press release was prepared in coordination between IOM the donor and MoD and has been channelled to the media through the MoD structures.
Due to the late receiving of the data about the third group of 1,595 people, outreach activities targeting that group could only start during the next reporting period. |
